I have been working in London as a seat weaver for the past 10 years. I am a 4th generation chair caner and have been taught the trade by my Aunt Racheal South who is a respected craftsperson and has worked in the industry for over 25 years. Within my own practice I am interested in both the traditional crafts and experimenting with contemporary methods focusing on alternative materials and patterns.

I am a qualified upholsterer, I studied at London Metropolitan University where my work was recognised and received awards from The Worshipful Company of Upholders, Heico and Hille.

 

I have also studied at Central Saint Martins where I completed a degree in sculptural design, this has helped me to develop an eye for design and has informed my practice.
